Three Things You Might Not Know About WORSHIPcast
Do you want to expand your church or ministry’s reach? Thinking about streaming services on your website but don’t know where to start. Or how to legally do so? It’s not uncommon for church leaders to be confused.
As we discussed yesterday, outside of the Religious Service Exemption, churches are responsible for adequately licensing copyrighted materials. While the RSE covers music within a church service – it does NOT cover retransmissions of that service. If your church’s services include copyrighted music, a church streaming license is REQUIRED to webcast or stream those services. We’ve put together a few facts about the WORSHIPcast Streaming License that might help determine if it is a good fit for your church.
Did you know?
- WORSHIPcast allows you to stream more than just your worship service. The license covers special events AND guest performances, as well. What a great way to keep those that can’t make it to church connected via your website. Think of those members of your congregation that are homebound, families of young children, even those traveling for the holidays!
- The WORSHIPcast catalog includes over25 million songs! So maybe you don’t NEED 25 million songs, but with that many, you can rest assured to find the music you do need. WORSHIPcast covers all genres, from Contemporary Christian and Gospel to Rock, Country, Holiday, Patriotic, Pop, Children’s music, and much more.*
- When you obtain music licensing such as WORSHIPcast, it’s a tremendous opportunity to support songwriters, who, in turn, will bless your church with new worship songs. We pay fees directly to ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC, and they then pay their affiliated writers and publishers.
