The Building Blocks of Copyrights
February 9, 2017
In order to understand what type of licensing your church needs, you must first have a basic understanding of copyrights. If you miss any of the “building blocks” that make up the foundation, you’re going to have trouble understanding what licenses your ministry needs. To avoid this mistake, church leaders need to have a firm grasp on these three basic building blocks:
1) What is a copyright, and what works and rights do the U.S. Copyright Law protect?
2) What are the creative works that can be copyrighted?
3) What are the exclusive rights of copyright owners and how do they impact the church’s use of copyrighted material?
Our FREE Fact Sheet on Copyrights 101 provides just that, the basic building blocks you need to establish a solid foundation to help you ensure your copyright licensing requirements are covered. If you have any further questions, you can always call and get help from one of CCS’s copyright experts at 855-576-5837 or log onto our website and chat live.
